We need doses of INSPIRATIONS, and vital SUPPORT SYSTEMS almost daily. A book, an art, a person, an idea, an example, etc. could be, on the one hand, an inspiration (SPRINGBOARD) when we do not know how to jump up to the next step; on the other hand, could be a support system (WALKING STICK) when we are vulnerable and prone to fall.
